Karamu will be holding auditions for the Youth Theatre Productions of "A =

"A Theatre Grows in Cleveland"=20

Synopsis...

This ten minute two-character piece placed fifth in the nation in the =
National History Day contest two years ago. It will celebrate Karamu's =
90th anniversary for the Youth Theatre program. Written and performed by =
Alexander Phillips, Hannah Stofan from Birchwood School in Ohio, the =
original title was "A Theatre Grows in Cleveland: Exploring Racial =
Equality Through the Dramatic Arts."  It depicts the colorful life of =
Russell and Rowena Jelliffe who founded the Playhouse Settlement in 1915 =
that later relocated in the 1940's and was renamed Karamu House. =
Performances are November 19 - December 10, 2005.

Seeking one caucasian male and one caucasian female ages 12 - 15.

Synopsis...

Nick is going off to college for the first time. The only problem is, =
his family is taking him -- his mother worries he will starve to death, =
his father forgot his tuition check, his teenage sister doesn't see why =
she has to go, his younger sister just wants to go to her ballet =
recital, and his grandmother "don't hear so good no more." It's going to =
be a fun day. Performances are November 19 - December 10, 2005.

Seeking actors and actresses of all nationalities between the ages of 8 =
and 50.

Director for both plays will be Judith Mazur, who directed Karamu youth =
theatre productions "When The Oldest Baby Jesus Got Lost," "Cinderella," =
and "The Hobbit."

The Cleveland Play House is seeking a qualified individual to work as a 
Dresser for their first production of the season, Room Service.   The 
qualified individual would have prior experience working with costumes and 
have knowledge of how to maintain and care for them.  We offer a 
competitive salary and a fun-working environment.  The qualified individual 
must be available during the day for tech/ rehearsals and evenings for the 
performances.  The contract start date would be September 29th, 2005 and go
