October is once again upon us, so Cabaret Dada thought you might like to know some interesting trivia about our 10th month:

 - October was originally invented by Germans so they would have a time to hold Oktoberfest

 - October started off as the 8th month (get it, Octo, 8?), but was moved to tenth when the brothers Julio and Augustino Caesar (inventors of salad) both inserted their own months (July and August) in the year before October.  (They also stole days from February so their months would be tied for the longest.)

 - Columbus day is in October because on October 13th, 1493, Anthony Columbus, Christopher's lesser known brother, landed on the banks of the Olentangy River in central Ohio (which was then known as Ohioana) and founded the city of Columbus.
