I did want to make a comment. A few years ago, the Lesbian/Gay Community
Center started a cultural arts program called the Aubrey Wertheim =
Institute,
named after the late writer, actor and activist who was very much a part =
of
Cleveland's performing arts community. Last year, some friends and I =
formed
Wild Plum Productions, billing ourselves as Greater Cleveland's Queer =
Arts
Project. We've performed at CPT and other venues, and have also had a =
series
of successful art exhibitions.

But when we would talk about gay people putting on artistic events, or
creating arts organizations, we were always met with this response: =
"There's
no homophobia, racism, sexism or bigotry in the performing and visual =
arts."

The Center and Wild Plum look forward to the Oct. 11 event, and hope to =

all of you who wrote us with your support and commitment to participate =
on
