Hello,
My name is Jason Modica and am currently in the process of applying to
various schools as a prospective musical theater major. I will be applying to
Cincinnatti, NYU, University of Michigan, Boston Conservatory, Otterbein,
Baldwin-Wallace, and probably a few others (I still need to come up with some
safety schools). For most of the programs, I need to prepare several songs and
monologues. The problem is, I have no idea where to begin my search for the
right pieces to present. I have a few songs that I am contemplating, but I
thought I would turn to the arts professionals of Cleveland for their
suggestions.
If you have the time, I would really appreciate any ideas you might have for
songs and monologues that I could perform at my college auditions. I will
need a variety of songs (ballads, up-tempo, before 1960, post 1960). As far
as monologues, either a specific script or a specific playwright whose work I
should consider would be fine.
Please send any ideas to: _TheActr97J at aol.com_ (mailto:TheActr97J at aol.com)
Any help you could provide would be most appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jason Modica
Stressed Out College Applicant
