THE GOLDEN AGE opens at Cassidy Theatre

What if "The Great Gatsby" had a missing chapter?  Did Eleanor Roosevelt really go skinny-dipping?  Does a nude painting of F. Scott Fitzgerald really exist?  And just who is Walter Babcock McCoy?

Curious?  So is Tom, a young writer caught in a trap of innuendo and ambition in the Cassidy Theatre's production of THE GOLDEN AGE, opening October 21st and running through November 6th.

Suggested by Henry James' "The Aspen Papers", this clever play by A.R. Gurney, revolves around the charming Isabel Hastings Hoyt, once a glittering figure in the literary salons of the 1920's, who is rumored to be the model for "Daisy", Fitzgerald's famous heroine.  It is also rumored that Isabel has in her posession a missing chapter of the book - a torrid missing chapter - and so, the trap is set.

Cassidy's production, directed by Joseph Hnat, stars Rita Poling as "Isabel", Dan Sekanic as "Tom" and Linda Ingram as Isabel's granddaughter "Virginia".   

You don't have to go downtown to enjoy outstanding theatre in Northeast Ohio.  The Cassidy Theatre offers  year-round entertainment including our regular season, Youth Theatre productions and Special Events including Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS coming in January.
