UA Theatre Professor James Slowiak is the director of Tartuffe. Written =
by Moli=E8re, one of Europe's greatest 17th century dramatists, Tartuffe =
challenges the intolerance, extremism, and secrecy found in any society =
where power is out of control. Tartuffe presents the story of a =
treacherous imposter who hides behind exaggerated piety and social =
convention in an attempt to swindle a family out of its wealth and its =
home. While staying true to Moli=E8re's time and intent, Slowiak's =
production underlines that Tartuffe is a play for all ages. =20
