TrueNorth Cultural Arts Center, home of the TrueNorth Symphony and Chorale,
announces its new TrueNorth Junior Symphony for beginning to intermediate
instrumentalists.  This is an intergenerational experience, with members as
young as 11 and as mature as 70!  We rehearse from 5:00 to 7:00 pm each
Monday night at the TrueNorth Center, 33439 Lake Road in Avon Lake.  We are
located in the shopping center just west of Moore Road, across from the CEI
power plant.

Although for beginning players, we don't play "Mary Had a Little Lamb."  We
are currently working on abridged versions of Mozart Symphony # 40, Brahms
"Valse," and Tchaikowsky Symphony # 6.  String players should be able to
play the full range of their instrument in first position and have been
introduced to other positions.  Woodwind and brass players should be able to
play the full range of their instruments.  We also need percussionists and
an intermediate level pianist.

We have no limit on the number of string players, but may limit brass,
woodwind and percussion to maintain a symphonic balance.  All players will
have an informal audition so that we can maintain the level of performance
we desire.

The TrueNorth Junior Symphony will have the opportunity to perform at
TrueNorth Concerts, including the upcoming Christmas Concerts on Dec. 16/17
and the TrueNorth Symphony concert on Jan. 20.  The group is directed by Jim
Traxler, with assistance from Crystal Gause.  We take our music seriously,
but not ourselves!  We have a good time!
