<P class=enoteheader>THE ORIENT EXPRESSLY</P>
<P class=enotecontent>Composers have long been fascinated by Asia, often as
a setting for their own fantastic re-creations of the East. CIM's <IMG

width=220 align=right vspace=6 border=0> Opera Theater will feature scenes
in concert format from a few of these on <B>November 9-12, 2005 at 8:00
p.m.</B> Gilbert and Sullivan's <I>The Mikado</I> is a world-famous comedy
set in a Japan that is very much like Victorian England. Stravinsky's
<I>The Nightingale</I> is a charming setting of a Hans Christian Andersen
fairy tale – a one act opera that will be presented in its entirety.
Additional scenes to be performed come from Mozart's <I>Abduction from the
Seraglio</I>, Bellini's <I>I Puritani</I>, Dvorák's <I>Rusalka</I> and
Puccini's <I>Madama Butterfly</I>. </P>
<P class=enotecontent>Directed by David Bamberger with Steven Byess
conducting the CIM Orchestra, tickets for the presentation are $15 for

<P class=enotecontent>On <B>Friday, November 18 at 8:00 p.m.</B>, the CIM
Orchestra, led by Carl Topilow, will perform works by Prokofiev, Stravinsky
and Mozart. Alina Petrenko, student of Paul Kantor, will be the featured
violinist in this concert presented in honor of UBS Financial Services Inc.

<P class=enotecontent>The presentation will be broadcast live on WCLV 104.9
FM. Due to anticipated capacity attendance, seating passes will be
distributed 30 minutes prior to this FREE concert. </P>
<P class=enoteheader>FESTIVAL TIME</P>

place November 30 through December 9. Enjoy concerts and master classes by
the Takács String Quartet, and concerts by CIM students and faculty
featuring string and string/piano, brass and woodwind chamber music. </P>
