[NEohioPAL]Berko letter to the PLAIN DEALER

It was with dismay that I read last Friday's FRIDAY
MAGAZINE in the PLAIN DEALER.  Here is a copy of the
letter which I sent to the editor.  In additon call
John Kappas at X4724 to insist on the PD assuming its
role in promoting the theatre.

"The new PD FRIDAY MAGAZINE format is attractive and
easy to read.  Unfortunately, in making the transition
to the new concept it seems that an editorial decision
was made to eliminate almost all reference to the
local theatre scene.  No performance listings, no
previews, no tryout announcements could be found.  
Amusement Parks, Fairs/Festivals and Open Air Markets
were there, but no theatre!  The local theatre
community is having a hard enough time financially.
Cutting off their major source of publicity will
further deteriorate their audiences.  The PLAIN DEALER
has an obligation to do more than run a few reviews. 
It has an obligation to be a good community resource. 
Please, please do the right thing and restore the
theatre to its rightful place in the FRIDAY 
MAGAZINE."
