The Lake Erie College Music Department will host the annual Vespers
program on Sunday, December 11. The event will take place at the Morley
Music Building on the campus of Lake Erie College at 4:30 p.m. Vespers
is a free family event that is open to the public.  Doors open at 4 p.m.
and no reservations are needed. =20

Vespers, one of the oldest traditions at Lake Erie College, will include
organ, choral, flute choir, instrumental soloist and chamber ensemble
works in the spirit of the holiday season.=20

The Lake Erie College Community Chorus, under the direction of Paul
Gothard, will perform seasonal concert works by J. S. Bach, Richard
Bennett, Harold Darke, Gustav Holst, John Rutter, and Vaughan Williams.

The LEC Flute Choir, directed by Judith Elias, will perform Leroy
Anderson's well-known Sleigh Ride, as well as a number of familiar and
classic English and French carols.

Soloists include: flautist, Judith Elias, with LEC accompanist, Roberta
Whitely, performing traditional carols arranged for flute and piano;
student pianist, Deborah Hoffman, in a performance of J. S. Bach's
Prelude no.10 in E minor; organist, Dr. Mark Bell, performing the
Prelude and Fugue in D Major, by Buxtehude; violist, Carol Linsenmeier,
in two works by Vaughn Williams, and joined by soprano, Sheri Pachinger
and Paul Gothard in a work by Brahms; and reader, Professor George
Farrell.  =20
