LAURA JOPLIN TO HOST BOOK SIGNING - FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2 AT THE IDEA
CENTER AT PLAYHOUSE SQUARE

Laura Joplin, Janis Joplin's sister and author of the book Love, Janis
will be at the Idea Center at Playhouse Square this Friday, December 2.
Laura will be talking about her life and memories of her sister through
her own personal stories, as well as through Janis' stories of love,
music and dreams told through letters that she sent home to her family
during her rise to fame.  This astonishing collection of letters
conveys, as no one else could, the wild ride from awkward small-town
teenager to rock and roll icon, and inspired the book Love, Janis and
ultimately the musical of the same name.

Prior to the discussion, Katrina Chester, the star of our production of
Love, Janis at the Hanna Theatre, will perform a number of songs form
the show as well as her new CD.  Following her performance and Laura's
discussion, Laura will be signing copies of her book, Love, Janis.
Books will be available for sale that evening in the Euclid Commons area
of Idea Center.
