The Dark Room, a monthly open mic session sponsored by the Cleveland Theater
Collective, salutes the Holiday Hotline revue written by Linda Einstein and
Mike Sepesy. Einstein and Sepesy were among the writers and performers who
helped to launch the Dark Room, and they "tried out" scenes and songs from the
revue at Dark Room sessions over the past year. It's great to see local
talent--writers, directors, producers, performers, and musicians--coming together to
create something new. That's what the Cleveland Theater Collective is all
about--trying to support a climate where theater artists can flourish. Special
thanks are also due to James Levin, whose Detroit Avenue Arts is presenting
Holiday Hotline at the Orthodox space. The adjacent Parish Hall, also owned by
Levin, provides the setting for the Dark Room each month. People like Jim Levin
and Linda Eisenstein are an inspiration to us all. They never give up and
have been creating theater in Cleveland under trying circumstances for decades.
Let's support our own talent this holiday season--in this show and so many
others currently running around town. For information about this and other local
shows, check out the performance calendar at www.clevelandtheater.com.
