The Beck Center for the Arts is seeking a PERCUSSIONIST for its upcoming
production of THE FULL MONTY
Production Dates: March 17 - April 9, 2006
An ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
1. Outstanding reading skills, preferably with prior theater pit
orchestra experience.
2. The ability to lay a strong latin groove on congas and timbales, as
well as strong rock grooves on congas.
3. Good jazz comping/chord voicing ability on vibes. Solo jazz improv
ability on vibes would be a bonus.
4. Own or have easy access to the following equipment:
a. Vibes (with working, quiet running motor)
b. Timpani
c. Orchestra Bells
d. Bass Drum (a mallet KAT for the above instruments would be even
better)
e. Congas
f. Timbales
g. Splash Cymbal
h. Suspended Cymbal
i. Additional percussion: Vibraslap, Tiny Triangle (probably something
like a small Abel), Small Triangle, Brake Drum, Cowbell, Tambourine
(probably a headless rock tambourine), Small Shaker, Cabasa, Mark Tree,
Claves, Castanets, Wood Block, Temple Blocks
This position comes with a modest stipend of $25/service (rehearsals and
