SPOTLIGHTS AUDITION NOTICE: SORRY, WRONG NUMBER AND THE HITCH-HIKER

The Broadview Heights Spotlights Community Theater will be holding open auditions for its upcoming Coffee House productions: The Hitch-Hiker and Sorry, Wrong Number. The Spotlights are seeking adult performers for all roles (ages 21 and up). Auditions will be held Monday, January 9 and Tuesday, January 10 at 7PM. Auditions will take place at the Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Building, located on the Broadview Center campus (9543 Broadview Road – 1/2 mi. South of Rt. 82). Readings from the script will be provided. Directed by Tim Anderson. Performance dates are Fridays and Saturdays, March 3-18, with a matinee performance slated for Sunday, March 12.

The Hitch-Hiker and Sorry, Wrong Number are one-act plays written by Lucille Fletcher. The Hitch-Hiker is a ghost thriller that tells the tale of a cross-country motorist who encounters a strange and inexplicable hitch-hiker. His efforts to explain, then avoid, and finally destroy the constantly appearing figure along the highway carry him through several episodes until the adventure culminates in a terrifying climax. The show calls for a strong male lead with several supporting roles for both men and women. Sorry, Wrong Number is a mystery thriller that tells of a neurotic invalid whose only contact with the outside world is her phone. One night, because of a crossed wire, she hears plans for a murder and frantically tries to enlist help through the only means at her disposal. Her frustration and terror grow as her efforts fall short of saving the victim from demise. The show calls for a strong female lead with several supporting roles for both men and women.
