Case Western Reserve Film Society is having their second annual Local
Filmmakers Night on January 28th at 7pm in Strosacker Auditorium.

 

The night opens with Johnny K. Wu's awards winning parody short film "A
Joker's Card" at 7pm following at 8:45pm with another of his short film
"The Chase". 

 

Johnny's "A Joker's Card", a parody/comedy fan film that has received
many rave reviews, has so far winning 3 awards while continuing strong
at sci-fi conventions and film festivals around the world. The short
film is currently distributed through pay-per-view networks while being
represented at the Cannes Film Market. "A Joker's Card" was the first
major collaboration short film done by local talented filmmakers (Bill
Johns, Alan Tuskes, Tom Luhtala, Robert Banks, Tim Gunn, Ellen Friedman,
Andrew Schofield, Andrew Sokol, etc) with the participation from award
winning filmmakers from Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Columbus,
Port Clinton, and Detroit.  Shooting with over 100 cast/crew in 4 full
days with multiple digital and one 16mm cameras with a blend of 60s TV
shows with the wire-fu of the 90s. More information is available at

"The Chase", an experimental film, is Johnny's first wire-fu project,
and he is also the first filmmaker in Cleveland doing wire-work in film
