	Saturdays 10:00 AM for 8 weeks - starting February 4, 2006

	Students in the performance laboratory will experiment with all
aspects of theatre.  Using the current Cleveland Play House season as a
starting point, this exploration will include character development,
movement, script analysis, scene work, and set and costume design.  =

learning, participants will appreciate all aspects of theatrical
collaboration.  Projects will be shared with friends and family in an =

	Since 1995 The Cleveland Play House has taught the art of dramatic
writing in its Young Playwrights Workshop.  An average of 20 high school
students have taken part in this program each year.  Some of these =
students
have gone on to win local and national playwriting contests and many =
have
pursued dramatic writing and theater as a major in college.  The =
program=92s
main purpose is to teach and mentor the next generation of American
playwrights by providing them with an intensive writing workshop in a
professional regional theatre setting.  In addition to the writing
workshops, students are given vouchers for tickets to the Play House
productions.  Their work will culminate in staged readings, which will =
bring
their words alive.

	Playwright Instructor:  Sarah Morton is a playwright, actor, and
educator, and a native of Cleveland, Ohio.  She recently performed her =
solo
piece, 4 Minutes to Happy at the New York International Fringe Festival =
and
at Cleveland Public Theatre, where it was nominated for a Northern Ohio =
Live
Achievement Award, and a Cleveland Theater Collective Award for Best
Actress.  Her solo piece The Eighth Wonder of the World was produced by
Dobama Theatre and received a SCENE award for Best Solo Performance.  =
She
has been an artist in residence at many local high schools and =
universities,
and an education staff member at The Cleveland Play House, and Cleveland
Public Theatre.
