Cleveland POPS Orchestra will bring the music of Elton John to sparkling
brilliance at Severance Hall=20

	CLEVELAND, OH / January 5, 2006 - Carl Topilow's acclaimed Cleveland

spanning over 3 decades of his prodigious output. The concert will be
performed at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2006 at Severance Hall.
Cleveland POPS will be joined on stage by The Elton Band of Jeans 'n
Classics.=20
London, Ontario-based Jeans 'n Classics, founded by Peter Brennen,
is a star performer in the arts and entertainment scene. Its concept of
collaborating with world-class symphony orchestras in presenting music =
of
the Classic Rock genre has drawn record setting capacity crowds.=20
The Jeans 'n Classics musicians, who will be joining Cleveland POPS
for this concert, have helped to build younger, loyal audiences for =
symphony
orchestras across Canada and the United States.
According to John Regan, pianist for the Elton Band, "Anyone who has
listened to popular music over the past 35 years has been touched by at
least one of Elton John's songs. For those who come of age in the 70's =
and
80's, his music framed the musicality, zaniness, tenderness and excess =
those
years often represent."
Many of the most beloved songs from Elton John's collection will be
offered, such as "Your Song," "Levon," "Philadelphia Freedom," and =
"Benny
and the Jets." Cleveland POPS will shine in such tunes as "Madmen Across =
the
Water," "and "Circle of Life."
Michael Reason will be guest conductor for the Cleveland POPS' Elton
John concert. Mr. Reason is the Artistic Director and Principal =
Conductor of
the Hamilton, Ontario Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a frequent guest
conductor abroad and throughout Canada,
