organization for campus events opens its second Black History Month performa=

February 3, 2006  of Lorraine Hansberry=E2=80=99s =E2=80=9CA Raisin in the S=
un.=E2=80=9D=20
A Raisin in the  Sun tells the story of a family living and struggling on=20
Chicago=E2=80=99s South Side in the 1950's. It  is a fiercely moving portrai=
t of people=20
whose hopes and dreams are constantly  deferred. Set at the beginning of the=
=20
Civil Rights era, this production brought  the everyday aspirations of Afric=
an=20
Americans to the stage for the first time.  We are pleased to be doing this=20
production to raise awareness of African  American play writes and without t=
he=20
help of Samuel French, Inc this would have  not been possible.=20
The production will run twice, Friday February 3 at 7:00pm and Saturday=20
February 4 at  3:00pm in the University of Akron=E2=80=99s Student Union  Ga=
rdner Theatre=20
