A Very "Schticky Situation" takes over Mandel JCC Jan. 21
Marc Moritz & Mike Bloom start it off!

The Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Cleveland is pleased to present an
evening of high-energy, fun-filled interactive Jewish improvisational comed=
y
starring Schticky Situation on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 8 p.m. in
Stonehill Auditorium at the Mandel JCC (26001 South Woodland Road, Beachwoo=
d
44122). =20

Cleveland's own improv comedy favorites Marc Moritz and Mike Bloom start of=
f
the evening's hilarities with Jewsical: A Little Night Musical
Improvisation.

Friends ever since that cool fall day when they met at the Kansas City
Jewish Community Center pre-school, Jay Lewis and Corey Rittmaster hooked u=
p
with Jim Montemayor when all three performed as part of the Kansas City
ComedySportz improv group. They became Schticky Situation with the additio=
n
of Monique Madrid, fellow performer at ImprovOlympic in Chicago and Corey's
better half. Now they're subjecting their family-friendly improv comedy
with a Jewish theme to Hillels, Jewish Federation Young Adult programs and
JCC cultural arts events audiences across the country.

Jay Lewis is the executive director of Hillel at the University of Kansas
and has run workshops throughout the country teaching how to use
improvisational comedy in Jewish educational settings. Jim Montemayor is
the facilities supervisor for the City of Mission, Kansas Community Center
and has performed with numerous improv groups in Chicago, Madison, and
Kansas City. The tallest member of the group, Corey Rittmaster performs at
a number of improv venues in the Chicago area, including the renowned
ImprovOlympic. After performing for years at ComedySportz in Kansas City,
Monique Madrid works as a stylist in Chicago while pursuing a career in
musical comedy and improvisation.

Opening the evening's comedic festivities are the granddaddies of Cleveland
improv=8BMarc Moritz and Mike Bloom=8Bwho will share what happens when two
rapidly aging Cleveland Jews discover there's more to laugh at than their
expanding waistlines and receding hairlines.

Marc Moritz was widely acclaimed last year for his performance as "Tateh" i=
n
the Jewish Community Center's heralded production of Ragtime, the Musical.
Moritz is the founder/artistic director of Giant Portions, Cleveland's
successful improv theater company from 1986-92. He has performed improv fo=
r
over 30 years including stints with Second City and ImprovOlympic in
Chicago. Having taught for the Second City Training Center in New York
City, Marc is currently master teacher at The Cleveland Improv Institute in
downtown Cleveland. With more than 20 years of experience in improvisation=
,
sketch comedy and music, Mike Bloom served as producer of The Second City
Cleveland, musical director of Second City Northwest (Chicago), The Second
City National Touring Company, and Giant Portions Improvisational Comedy
Company in Cleveland.
