CALLIE'S TALLY

ONE NIGHT ONLY!! BENEFIT PERFORMANCE FOR SOUTHERN REP

There is an old saying that when it comes to love, you don't count the
cost.
But clearly, in an era when it takes upward of $200,000 to raise a child to
age 18, it's high time to send the kids a bill. Betsy Howie realized this
long before her daughter's birth. So while most people just groan about the
small fortune they spend on their bundles of joy, Betsy decided to keep
exact track. Over the course of 15 months - from late in her pregnancy to
Callie's first birthday - Howie counts every penny she spends in the world
premiere of this hilarious show adapted from her best- selling book by the
same name.

Callie's Tally was scheduled to open the season at Southern Rep, the
professional theatre in New Orleans. That theatre was largely destroyed by
Hurricane Katrina and is now in desperate need of our help.

At 7:30 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2006, The Play House, along with
participating theatres that include the Beck Center for the Arts, Cleveland
Public Theater, Dobama Theatre, Ensemble Theater, Great Lakes Theater
Festival, and Karamu House, will host a staged reading of this play which
would have opened the Southern Rep's 2005-2006 season. It will be read by
four local actresses: Nina Domingue, Tracee Patterson, Laura Perotta and
Elizabeth Ann Townsend. All proceeds will benefit the Southern Rep.
Tickets,
for a minimum donation of $15, are available through The Play House Ticket
Office, (216) 795-7000 ext. 4.
