Weathervane Playhouse's Education Program

Summer 2006 H.O.T. Workshops=20

(Akron, Ohio February 3, 2006 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE...) Weathervane =
Playhouse announces the H.O.T. summer workshops and classes for children =
ages 4-18. The class sessions begin June 12 and run through August 19, =
2006. Classes meet weekdays at Weathervane Playhouse. The summer session =
is the final stage of the 2005-2006 Education program. The students have =
a wide choice of theatre education classes to choose from, and the =
sessions will all be taught by working theatre professionals from =
Northeast Ohio. Registration has begun and space is limited, so call =
now.=20

The following is the list of available classes:

Hands On Theatre

Weathervane's summer workshops are Hands On Theatre and fun!

This summer we offer three sessions of Weathervane's Hands On Theater =
program for young people ages 4-18 in our state-of-the-art education =
facility. In a comprehensive theater- training program led by theatre =
professionals, students will learn all about acting, improvisation, =
stage directions, auditioning, and more.

Classes meet: Monday - Friday 10 am - 2 pm Cost: $260.00 for each =
session

H.O.T. Session I

6- to 8- year-olds Monday, June 19 - Friday, June 30, 2006

H.O.T. Session II

8- to 10- year-olds Monday, July 3 - Friday, July 14, 2006

H.O.T. Session III

10- to 12- year-olds Monday, July 17 - Friday, July 28, 2006

All three HOT sessions will offer extra workshop time before and after =
the scheduled class.

Times are 9 -10 am and 2 - 4 pm - Fee: $140 for the extra 30 hours of =
class for thwe two weeks

Mini Workshop in Creative Dramatics

A mini sessions for 4 and 5 year olds. Students will discover the joy of =
creating a theatrical experience through theatre games, storytelling, =
and creative drama.=20

Pre-school Playhouse

4- and 5- year-olds June 7-11, 2004 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Cost: $135.00=20

One-Week Theatre Workshops

Musical Theater Workshop

This workshop is custom-designed to meet the individual needs of =
students ages 9 -12. Theater training in voice dance and sight-reading =
allows students to advance at their own pace.

June 18 - 22, 2006 10:00 am - 1:00 pm Cost: $135.00=20

Audition Workshop=20

This workshop is designed for students age 13 and older. Students will =
create their own "audition packages" including the preparation of a =
resum=E9 and how to maximize the effect of an audition.

Three contrasting, two-minute monologues are required for the first =
class.

"Weathervane's Elite Theatre Education Program"

Summer Stock for Teens=20

This theatre workshop is designed for students, ages 13 & older who have =
already had some theatrical experience on stage or behind the scenes. =
This workshop is a theatre performance lab. Students accepted into this =
intense theatre-training program form their own production company, =
under the supervision of a director, for the purpose of producing and =
presenting their own independent production of. There will be two =
special public performances on August 18 an 19, at Weathervane =
Playhouse.

Space is limited to 18 acting and 4 technical positions.

Monday - Friday, August 7 - 19, 2006 Time: 10:00 - 4:00 pm Cost: $300=20

All classes will be held at Weathervane Community Playhouse
