BENEATH AN '88 BUICK
Written by Zach Nocera
Directed by John Atzberger

Par-T-Com Productions is looking to cast a 35- to 45-year-old "desperate
housewife" female actress for the role of ANNE in our upcoming short production
BENEATH AN '88 BUICK, adapted from the short story by award-winning author Roger
Hart. Anne is both attractive and wealthy, and has a hard time coming up with
things to do with her free time. The teenage male protagonist develops an
adolescent crush on her, and she doesn't do much to discourage his feelings.

The role involves two days of weekend work in Athens, Ohio in late April. The
role is unpaid, but travel and meal expenses are provided. If you would be
interested in auditioning, please contact John Swartz at business at par-t-com.net
or 614-395-9740 before March 3rd. Auditions can be arranged in your area. A full
script is available upon request.

The project will be produced by Par-T-Com Productions, LLC, a student-run
production company which has received notable recognition by winning the MTVu
Best Film on Campus Competition and two Regional Emmy awards, as well as
acceptance and awards from several international film festivals and video
contests. Par-T-Com Productions also has produced corporate videos and
nationally-broadcast commercial productions.

William (a.k.a. Highway) explores his adolescence beneath the hood of an '88 Buick.

SYNOPSIS
--------
William (a.k.a. Highway) is spending his summer alternating between pretty Miss
Oakley's summer school classes and the local lube shop, where he works with his
friend Alfred and Alfred's '88 Buick jalopy. Alfred constantly brags of his
sexual prowess while William is stuck greasing the fittings of the Buick's
undercarriage, forced to listen to Alfred's ramblings all the while. Between
Alfred's talk and his adolescent sea of raging hormones, William starts to worry
that his sexual inexperience may ultimately scar him for life, if the problem is
not dealt with soon.

So when well-to-do desperate housewife Anne drops in and confusedly asks for the
boy who can communicate with animals, William's hormones do the talking. With no
idea who she is asking about, he agrees to "read" her bloodhound Galatea, and
diagnoses the dog's depression as no more than a lack of sex. William obviously
has one thing on his mind, and his clear view of Anne's legs is by no means
helping. Anne thanks him suspiciously, and takes her leave.

Later, Anne stops by the lube shop again, and tells William he was perfect in his
analysis – Galatea went into heat the very next day. She asks him to come back to
her house, to help her "jumper" horse. William, unable to resist this object of
his affections, agrees and finds himself rolling up to Anne's expensive country
home in Alfred's borrowed Buick. After calming the horse, Anne asks him to do
her, and a mortified William runs for his life. Whether he misunderstood Anne's
words or not, William swears off women for good.

Back at the lube, Alfred and William are back to work. Up to the shop rolls an
old Mustang convertible, from which emerges Miss Oakley and her yellow Labrador.
After reading his paper on animal communicating, she wanted to ask William a
favor, but all William can notice is the hint of a blue brassiere strap that
barely slips down her shoulder…
