The Broadview Heights Spotlights Community Theater is pleased to open its 2006 season with its 8th annual Coffeehouse production. This year's Coffeehouse will feature two of Lucille Fletcher's one-act plays: 'The Hitch-Hiker' and 'Sorry, Wrong Number.' Show dates are Fridays and Saturdays, March 3-18, at 8:00 PM. A matinee performance is slated for Sunday, March 12 at 3:00 PM. All shows will be held at the Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Building, 9543 Broadview Road (1/2 mile South of Route 82). Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for students and senior citizens.

'The Hitch-Hiker,' performed in the style of a 1940s radio show, is a ghost thriller about a cross-country motorist who encounters a strange and inexplicable hitch-hiker. His efforts to explain, then avoid, and finally destroy the constantly-appearing figure along the highway carry him through several episodes until the adventure culminates in a terrifying climax. Starring Mike Yonkura as motorist Ronald Adams. Also starring: Cathy Calabrese, Catherine Gallagher, Susan Kobylinski, Pat Petipas, Deb Sweat, and Ruth Wilson.

'Sorry, Wrong Number' is a mystery thriller that tells the tale of Mrs. Stevenson, a neurotic invalid whose only contact with the outside world is her phone. One night, because of a crossed wire, she hears plans for a murder and frantically tries to enlist help through the only means at her disposal. Her frustration and terror grow as her efforts fall short of saving the victim from demise. Starring Ruth Wilson as Mrs. Stevenson. Also starring: Cathy Calabrese, Catherine Gallagher, John Grad, Susan Kobylinski, George Lasecki, Pat Petipas, Jaclyn Phelps, Deb Sweat, and Mike Yonkura. Both shows are directed by Tim Anderson.

For a small donation, audiences will have the opportunity to indulge in fanciful coffees and decadent desserts between shows. Dessert sponsors for this year's Coffeehouse include Michael Angelo's Bakery; coffee sponsored by Caruso's Coffee.

Audiences will also enjoy a gallery exhibit presented by the Cleveland Photographic Society. The exhibit will be open one-half hour prior to curtain and at intermission on performance dates.
