BEEHIVE – THE ‘60’S MUSICAL
ROCKS ON TO CASSIDY STAGE
BEEHIVE – THE ‘60’S MUSICAL rocks on to the Cassidy Theatre stage March 17th, featuring six wailing women, one hot band and thirty costume changes.
This high energy musical revue traces the great girl groups and solo singers of that turbulent decade featuring favorites like “The Name Game”, “My Boyfriend’s Back”, and “It’s My Party”. The second act, like the late ‘60’s themselves, focuses on the songs, and performers, that reflected the social consciousness of the time – from Janis Ian’s “Society’s Child” to Janis Joplin’s “Piece Of My Heart”.
BEEHIVE, directed by popular area director/entertainer Kevin Joseph Kelly, with musical direction by Heidi Herczeg and choreography by Lora Workman is not just a straightforward presentation of the music - the talented cast portrays the artists that made the songs popular. Cassidy Theatre’s amazing “Ladies of the Hive”: Tonya Broach, Amiee Collier, Ayeshah Douglas, Laurel Held-Posey, Keli Schimelpfenig and Caron Wykle are your ticket to witness Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, The Supremes, Leslie Gore, Janis Joplin and more - all in one concert! “A talented group of teen singers and dancers provide an “American Bandstand” high-energy back-up for the ladies”, explains Kelly.
You don't have to go downtown to enjoy outstanding theatre in Northeast Ohio! BEEHIVE – The ‘60’s Musical opening March 17th and running through April 2nd is followed on the Cassidy stage by the Pulitzer Prize Winning play Anna In The Tropics.
Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $17 for adults and $14 for students and senior citizens. Don't miss out! Early reservations are strongly suggested and tickets are going fast. Tickets can be ordered by phoning the Box Office at (440) 842-4600 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. MasterCard and Visa are accepted.
