Resonance: World Music Festival, on April 28 and 29, is seeking volunteers for:
** ticket sales / ushering / set up / greeting /clean up / backstage assistance /
artist assistance **
   Volunteers will get in FREE for the sessions they can assist during the two day
festival, Friday and Saturday nights from 7-10 and two dance parties from 10-1
am.
The WMF will feature ten groups performing music from four continents. In addition
to attending an outstanding line-up of concerts, the audience will be able to
become active participants in the festival through dance parties with live music
both nights and hands-on workshops on Saturday afternoon.  Polish, Ukrainian,
Arabic, Latin, African, Slavic, and Eastern European styles of music will be heard.

   The events will take place at the Detroit Avenue Arts Complex located at 6415

     The festival kicks off Friday night, April 28th in the Old Parish Hall with an
East European concert featuring Gypsy-Punk Balkan brass band Slavic Soul
Party! from New York City, the Polish highlander fiddle band Goralska Muzyka
from Chicago and the Cleveland based East European band Harmonia. A dance
party with live music by all three groups follows the concert. On Saturday
April 29th, afternoon workshops and concerts run from 12 noon to 6 PM
featuring the Eternal Tango Quartet from Buenos Aires and New York, Harmonia,
The Kobzari Ensemble of the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus, mbira (African
thumb-piano) virtuoso, Monatho Masani, South Indian veena player Shiva Sastry,
the Nadeem Dlaikan Arabic Ensemble , the Mamadou Diabate Ensemble from Mali
and Goralska Muzyka. A tango and Milonga dance workshop will be part of the
Saturday afternoon line up. Saturday evening concerts begin at
7 PM in both spaces. Immediately following the evening concerts, a milonga and
tango dance party with live music by the Eternal Tango Quartet takes place in the
Old Parish Hall and a World Music Café in Orthodox featuring acoustic performances
by the other festival artists.
   Single session tickets are $15 and $25 for a Festival Pass; dance party only
tickets are $10. Student tickets are $10 with ID. (If you volunteer, admission
