Old Age. Mental Illness. Leukemia. An uncontrollable  garage door.=20
Sounds like a lot of fun, no? Welcome to the world of estranged =20
sisters Bessie and Lee, along with their extended, extremely =20
dysfunctional clan in "Marvin's Room", Scott McPherson's humorous and =20
touching portrait of love, family, and how we must contend with some of =20
life's unpleasant offerings. Heavy subject matter. Uplifting story.=20
You  will love getting to know this family, and remember them long after=20
you have  left the theater.=20
CAST NEEDS
Five Women:
Bessie and Lee are the  middle aged, estranged sisters who find a new=20
understanding of each  other.=20
Aunt Ruth is a senior citizen who has become pretty  dependent on others. Sh=
e=20
provides much of the  comedy.=20
Dr. Charlotte is the director of the state mental health  facility; adult,=20
age unimportant.=20
Retirement home director; a cold and business-like adult,  age unimportant.=20
Five Men
Dr. Wally, middle aged, a bit absent minded; another source  of comedy.=20
Bob, his brother, who is an inept receptionist in the  Dr.'s office; another=
=20
source of comedy.=20
Marvin, a senior citizen who has been bed-ridden for 20  years; very little=20
blocking, no lines, just occasional  mumbling.=20
Lee's sons:
Hank, 17; a nice kid who has become tough  and occasionally violent, while=20
trying to deal with the whims of his  mother.=20
Charlie, 12; a quite, submissive, book  worm.=20
PLEASE NOTE the dates have changed slightly from the  audition brochure.=20
