FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Student Musicians from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music Embark on=20
Benefit Tour for the Alzheimer=92s Association

<Editors please note: a complete tour schedule is included.>

OBERLIN, OHIO (May 4, 2006) =97 The contemporary classical music =
ensemble=20
Reach Fusion is taking to the road this month in an effort to help the=20=

Alzheimer=92s Association. The student group=92s One Small Step tour =
will=20
cover five northern Ohio cities =97 Akron, Bucyrus, Cleveland, Lorain,=20=

and Oberlin =97 and concludes with a concert in Quincy, Illinois.
	Reach Fusion includes violist Anne Ristorcelli =9207 of =
Gardnerville,=20
Nevada, a student of Professor of Viola Peter Slowik; pianist SeungKu=20
Lee =9206 of Pusan, South Korea, a student of Professor of Piano Sanford=20=

Margolis; and percussionists Michael Lehman =9206 of Akron, Ohio, and=20
Aaron Williams =9207 of Quincy, Illinois, both of whom study with=20
Professor of Percussion Michael Rosen.
Formed within the past year, Reach Fusion is rapidly making a name for=20=

itself through its commitment to social involvement. =93My grandmother=20=

was diagnosed with Alzheimer=92s disease in 2005,=94 says Lehman. =
=93That=92s=20
when I was first inspired to help the Alzheimer=92s Association. I=20
organized a benefit concert last year that raised more than $2,500 for=20=

the association. With this tour, we hope to build upon the success of=20
this past achievement.=94
	In addition to its eclectic selection of music, Reach Fusion =
brings a=20
unique blend of personalities and an unmatched passion for music to=20
each performance. The core of the group=92s percussive sound comes from=20=

its energetic use of the marimba and vibraphone, which is featured on=20
Anders Koppel=92s Toccata and will be performed by Lehman and Williams.=20=

Lee will then join them for two trios=97Bob Becker=92s Prisoners of the=20=

Image Factory and the rhythmically driving Happy Tachyons by New=20
Zealand composer John Psathas =97 before performing B=E9la Bart=F3k=92s =
classic=20
Piano Sonata. Ristorcelli will join Williams in Recitative II, a duo by=20=

Leonie Holmes, also of New Zealand. The program will conclude with Paul=20=

Hindemith=92s stirring Trauermusik.	Alzheimer=92s disease is a =
progressive=20
brain disorder that gradually destroys a person=92s memory and ability =
to=20
learn, reason, make judgments, communicate, and carry out daily=20
activities. An estimated 4.5 million Americans have Alzheimer=92s=20
disease. The One Small Step tour will seek to raise money and increase=20=

awareness to aid the Alzheimer=92s Association in its efforts to not =
only=20
improve the lives of those affected by the disease and but also to=20
ultimately conquer it. Reach Fusion has collaborated with the=20
Alzheimer=92s Association chapter in each city where it will perform. As=20=

part of this collaboration, a representative from the Alzheimer=92s=20
Association will be present at each free, public concert to collect=20
goodwill donations and to share information about recent advancements=20
in research. Donations from each concert will benefit local families=20
and programming as well as the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Research=20
Institute in Chicago, Illinois.
	The first concert takes place Sunday, May 14, 2006, at 2 p.m. in=20=

Warner Concert Hall at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, 77 West=20
College Street, in Oberlin, Ohio.
	For additional information about Reach Fusion and the One Small =
Step=20
tour, please contact ReachFusion at yahoo.com or call Michael Lehman at=20
330-256-3668. To make a donation to the Alzheimer=92s Association, =
please=20
contact your local Alzheimer=92s Association chapter or email the group=20=

at ReachFusion at yahoo.com.
