PRESENTING
CLIFFHANGER
A terrific comedy/ thriller by

June 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 23, and 24th
Western Reserve Playhouse opens its 2006 season with an old fashion thriller/chiller that has some heart, some heartbreak and plenty of hearty laughs. Variety said, “It combines the warmth and charm of ON GOLDEN POND with almost as many plots twists as DEATHTRAP.
David Reifel, director and leading man, plays Henry Lowenthal a professor of philosophy at a small western college. After a long tenure he is looking forward to an endowed chair so he and his wife Polly, played by Kathy Turk, can enjoy their golden years with honor and dignity. But his plans are given a rude jolt when his successor, a vindictive and ruthlessly ambitious woman played by Stayce Jayne Nabors, informs him that she intends to keep the chair from him. To counteract her attack he intends to eliminate her and thereafter ensues the plot. Complications arise when a young but rather sinister young student, played by Jay Dial, becomes aware of the plot and its aftermath. Add in a suspicious police lieutenant ,played by Walt Kaminski, and you have all the ingredients for a series of suspenseful, unexpected and frequently funny developments, leading to a denouement that will catch everyone by surprise. Next in the 2006 season are the musical, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, directed by Marc A. Zimmerman July 21st through August 12th and our final production OPAL’S HUSBAND from September 8th through the 30th.
During our last production we will have a special celebration night to honor the original members of the Bath Community Players which evolved into the Western Reserve Playhouse. We are still looking to locate as many of those members from the years 1956 to about 1970 as possible.
