The North Coast Mens Chorus Celebrates
Pride With Colors of Our Lives
CLEVELAND Show your true colors from
lavender-to-pink and everything in-between by
joining the North Coast Mens Chorus, northeast Ohios
premier gay mens chorus, as they proudly present
COLORS OF OUR LIVES, a show that revels in the colors,
the emotions, the soul and the pride that fills our
lives. Performances are Saturday, June 10th at 8:00
p.m. and Sunday, June 11th at 3:00 p.m. at Waetjen
Auditorium, 2001 Euclid Avenue, in the Music and
Communications Building of Cleveland State University.
Rich Cole, in his eighth season as Music Director,
describes COLORS OF OUR LIVES, as a musical
celebration, showing, proudly and without excuses, how
we are who we are; a show about finding our way out of
the shadows and into bright light of day; about how
living our lives proudly and openly will ensure that
the dream of freedom for all will soon be a reality.
Songs like If I had My Way and, naturally, Lavender,
will strike a multi-hued chord. NCMC is bringing back
guest soloist Ava Withers for The Gods Love Nubia from
Broadways Aida. If you missed her TREE CHIC
performance, where she brought the audience to its
feet, you have a second chance to experience a truly
soulful presentation. Lora Workmans choreography
will get you to Think Pink. The Coastliners, the
Chorus celebrated small ensemble, will sing a medley
of songs from the west, the land where cowboys are
sometimes fond of each other. And if that isnt
enough color for you, just sit back and listen as
the Chorus takes you through a bit of Rainbow Madness.
The Chorus Pride performances are especially known
for their liberating vocal selection and foot-stomping
theatrics. Kelly Ferjutz of Cool Cleveland has called
the NCMCs performances glittery and glitzy,
wonderfully tuneful.
