INLET DANCE THEATRE’S SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVE
OFFERS DANCE INSTRUCTION FOR THE COMMUNITY
CLASSES CULMINATE WITH PERFORMANCES AT CAIN PARK
May 22, 2006 – Dance lovers of all ages and skill levels now have the opportunity to learn from the professional company members of Inlet Dance Theatre. Inlet Dance Theatre is proud to offer their 6th annual Summer Dance Intensive (SDI). SDI is a six-week modern dance instructional camp for dance students ages 12 though adult and includes curriculum such as hip-hop, modern dance technique, nontraditional partnering, improvisation, composition and performance. Inlet also offers the “SDI Jr.” camp for younger dancers ages 7 to 11. A key to Inlet’s mission is using dance to help camp participants enhance dance skills while furthering personal discovery, confidence and physical fitness.
A highlight of the SDI experience for both camp participants and the community are the culminating performances July 25 & 26 at Cain Park Evans Amphitheater in Cleveland Heights. “The Cain Park performances continue the education process for our Summer Dance Intensive students. Their hard work is rewarded by the enthusiastic reception Cain Park audiences give us each and every year,” commented Inlet Artistic Director Bill Wade.
Inlet’s SDI will take place June 14 through July 27. Inlet’s SDI Jr will take place June 26 through July 25. Both camps will be housed at Wiley Middle School (2181 Miramar Blvd., University Heights).
