RESPECT:  A Musical Journey of Women - AUDITION NOTICE

Call Type:

Equity principle and understudy positions.

Seeking:

Actresses who can sing and move well.

Breakdown:

Dorothy:  Middle-aged (late 30's to early 50's).  Narrator, college
professor, activist, mother and friend.

Faith:  Soprano.  Younger (20's to early 30's).  Bright but naive.  Able to
sing jazz and pop.  Will also play multiple characters including Coco
Channel.

Rosa:  Lower, Alto voice.  Flexible age range (young up to mid-40's). Can
sing jazz, soul and R&B.  Strong exterior.  Will also play multiple
characters including Rosa Parks and Ide B. Wells.

Eden:  Mid-range voice.  Flexible age (20's to early 40's).  Able to sing
Broadway and pop. Uses her sexuality when she can.  Will also play multiple
characters including Lily Langtry and Marilyn Monroe.

Other:

Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.
Non-equity talent also welcomed.

Preparation:

Please prepare an up-tempo pop song from the 50's, 60's or 70's and a
musical theater piece. Bring music in your key, an accompanist will be
provided. Please also prepare a one-minute monologue.  Bring an extra
headshot and resume (will not be returned).

Contract:

This is an AEA contract for "Respect:  A Musical Journey of Women."
Performances to be held at the Hanna Theatre Playhouse Square, Cleveland,
Ohio.

Monday and Tuesday, June 19 and 20th, 2006 at the West Rehearsal Hall at
Playhouse Square Center's State Theatre.  Enter through State Theatre Stage
