The Greater Stark Community Arts Network is pleased to announce the =
winners
of Garbage to Glory, a collaborative effort of Arts In Stark, The =
Greater
Stark Community Arts Network, and The City of Canton to increase public =
art
in Downtown Canton.  =20

Eight Stark County artists have been commissioned to transform cement
garbage containers into functional works of art that everyone in Stark
County will be able to enjoy.  The cans will be placed on Court Avenue
between 2nd St. NW and 6th St. NW in Downtown Canton. =20

The winning proposals were submitted by (in alphabetical order):  Marcy
Axelband, Christine Benner, Patrick Buckohr, Judy Greek, Bili Kribbs, BJ
Lincoln, Dana Muntean, and Tracey Parker.

Each of the eight artists will be awarded $500.00 upon completion of =
his/her
project and will be given a budget for supplies and preparation.  The
artists will maintain their respective projects for one year.

The completed projects will be unveiled on July 15th during the new Zing =
in
the City festival, which is free and open to the public.
