FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - June 19, 2006 Rabbit Run Theater's Production of
"Enchanted April" June 23 - July 1

Enchanting is a word not often used or heard, but it's a word that carries
with it an impression of pleasant bewitchment. It also happens to be a word
in the title of Rabbit Run Theater's next production "Enchanted April".

And an appropriate title it is as this show promises to "pleasantly bewitch"
and charm all who see the production. Written by Matthew Barber and based
on the novel by Elizabeth Von Armin, "Enchanted April" is set in post WWI
England. The play opens with a serendipitous meeting of two very different
English women, Rose Arnott (Caitlin Sandham) and Lotty Wilton (Melissa
Nielsen). They discover that they have both read the same advertisement at
the same time for the rental of an Italian villa on the Mediterranean.

Both women endure bleak marriages and struggle to deal with the guilt of
wanting to get away when so many English women have recently lost their
husbands in WWI. In the depression of the post-war economy, there is also
the problem of paying for such an extravagance. In answer to this dilemma,
Rose and Lotty place an ad looking for two other women who might share the
expenses. Enter the straight-laced and crotchety Mrs. Graves (Catharine
Beck) and Lady Caroline, a seemingly fancy-free modern.

No where could four such divergent women be found, and their differences
quickly become apparent as they take a month's long residence in the villa.
However, among the wisteria, the sunshine, and the sea breezes, tensions
slowly ebb away, and each begins to blossom as all life seems to do in this
"enchanting" setting.

"Enchanted April" is directed by Barbara Rhoades, who is no stranger to
Rabbit Run. She appeared as recently as last summer in the theater's
production of "The Music Man" as Mrs. Paroo. Over the years Rhoades has
directed six shows at Rabbit Run including "Steel Magnolias" and "Love, Sex,
and the IRS" and has appeared in numerous other shows.

"The cast we have is a marvelous ensemble," said Rhoades. "We have actors
from here in the Madison area and as far away as Lakewood to the west and
Pennsylvania to the east. These are experienced actors who memorized their
lines early and put a lot of time and effort into character research and
development. They have been, in short, a director's dream."

"Of particular help has been Catharine Beck who plays Mrs. Graves.
Catharine is a wonderful and experienced Equity actor from England, and she
has been of immense help with refining the cast's English accents. She is a
member of both American Actors Equity and British Actors Equity, and it's
been a real delight to work with her."

Catharine Beck is appearing in "Enchanted April" as a courtesy of Actors'
Equity Association.

"Enchanted April" opens Friday, June 23 and runs through July 1. All shows
begin at 8:00 p.m. Rabbit Run Theater is located at 5648 Chapel Rd. in
Madison. Call 440-428-7092 for ticket reservations. Rabbit Run Community
Arts Association receives support from the Ohio Arts Council, a state agency
that supports public programs in the arts. Memorial Hospital of Geneva is
the proud marquee supporter for this production.
