WHAT: Audtions for Kalliope Stage's Sept/Oct production of Andrew Lippa's WILD PARTY, directed by Paul Gurgol

WHEN: Monday, June 26 and Tuesday, June 27 by appointment only, starting at 5pm

Please come prepared with two contrasting songs (with sheet music ONLY.) Call for appointment 216-321-0870 between the hours of 1pm and 4pm, Monday through Friday.

Rehearsals begin Monday, August 7 and run M-F evenings and Sunday 1-5pm, and 6-10pm. Performances September 7 through October 15, Wednesday-Saturday 8pm and Sunday matinees at 2pm. 

CASTING:
Equity and Non-Equity, all roles paid.

All singers must have a strong awareness of pop music and blues/rock/pop/r&b styles. Much dynamic singing required. Different ages and types, but all sexy. Everyone must be comfortable in a mature production, some nudity. The role of Kate iscast.

Queenie: blonde, mid/late 20's, legs for days. Must be convincing that she is a vaudeville dancer, must dance well enough to convey that. Vocal: powerhouse belter with mix. Low G to high E (mixed) with no break. Serious pop component but leans toward big, contemporary, Broadway belter. Marilyn Monroe type.

Burrs: tough and sexy, mid-30's, always hot. Clown in Vaudeville circuit-must be convincingly funny and move well enough to convey that. He's dangerous, dark, and desirable. Violent. Vocal: tenor or high baritone with lots of Gs. Sings hot swing number and very rhythmic pop-groove number. low A to high B (screamed.)

Black: Mid to late 20's, any race, hot. Charming and graceful, powerful, very attractive. Vocal: high baritone, super groovy, and super sexy.

Madelaine True: Tired, vampiric lesbian of indeterminate age, funny. Vocal: low A to high E (mix). Comedy belter

Eddie: Slightly punch drunk boxer. Mid/late 30's. Huge,hunky, really stupid past his prime. Baritone, low G to high G#

Mae: Eddie's girl. Mid/late 20's. Short, cute, sexy, funny. Belt with head voice

Oscar D'Armano: Homosexual, songwriting half of brother duo, excitable, silly. Almost naive, always sexually attractive. 20'something. Pop/groove high tenor, must wail.

Phil D'Armano: Oscar's other half. Tight-lipped, very fussy, proper, serious "artiste" of the two. Second tenor.

Jackie: Mute, extraordinary dancer.

Max: African-American high tenor, should sing like Mariah Carey. Late 20's

Dolores: late 20's, salt of the earth, prostitute, very sexy. pop/r&b soprano, must riff and ad lib

Nadine: the minor, must be believably under 18 years of age. Second soprano.

Sam Himmelsteen: Jewish producer, 40-something, loud, brash, paunchy, baritone
