CPT seeks an experienced Acting Instructor/Performance Instructor to =

with the program=92s current staff on its 2006 CPT/Y-Haven Performance =
Project

CPT & Y-Haven

Y-Haven is a long-term transitional program and shelter for formerly
homeless men recovering from addiction. The Y-Haven population is =
diverse,
spanning a wide range of ages, ethnicities and social backgrounds. =
Cleveland
Public Theatre is Cleveland=92s leading alternative theatre which has a
history of creating both original professional theatre as well as =
original
performance with non-artists from underserved communities.

The Project

In its seventh year, The CPT/Y-Haven Performance Project is an annual
collaboration between Cleveland Public Theatre and Y-Haven to create a =
live
theatre piece. In the Performance Project, 8 to 15 residents of Y-Haven =
work
with professional artists and CPT staff over a four month period to =
create
an original theatre piece that grows out of the residents=92 personal
experiences with homelessness and addiction. Upon completion of the =
project,
the performance tours to locations throughout Cleveland for four weeks
beginning October 12, before finally being performed as part of the CPT
season, Nov 16 =96 18. The goals and participants of the project =
demonstrate
what exciting, challenging creative opportunity this is. Previous
performances have been met with overwhelming audience response and =
support.

The Position

The position will work with the program=92s Director and its Playwright =
as
well as Guest Artists to help create the performance piece. CPT is =
committed
to building a staff for this project that reflects the diversity of the
Y-Haven residents that it serves.

Skills Needed

Qualified Candidates should have experience in teaching performance =
skills
and acting to adult beginners. Experience with using improvisation as a =
tool
to develop original dramatic material will be especially considered.
Experience with leading and developing=20
a cappella group singing in a variety of genres is a plus.

A relatively modest, but negotiable fee is available for work on the
project.

Time Commitment

*	2 =96 2 =BD hour afternoon sessions per week in  July and 1st half of
August
*	3 - 2 =BD hours afternoon rehearsals per week in late August and
September
*	20 - 40 hours per week first two weeks in Oct.

Candidates who can travel with the show for all or a portion of the tour =
in
October & November will receive additional compensation.
