PARTNER FOR THE 17TH ANNUAL STAR-SPANGLED SPECTACULAR CONCERT &
FESTIVAL, JULY 7, 2006

Performance broadcast on WCPN, plus live video presentation puts Public
Square audience front and center

 WVIZ/PBS and 90.3 WCPN ideastream and the Cleveland Orchestra
collaborate to present the "Star-Spangled Spectacular Concert &
Festival" Friday, July 7 in downtown Cleveland's Public Square.

As the media partner for this grand public celebration of Independence
Day, ideastream will broadcast portions of the day's events on 90.3
WCPN, and will provide the master of ceremony and production and
technical support to present the concert and related entertainment to
the audience on site at Public Square. This is the 12th year that
ideastream has partnered with The Orchestra to present the event.

90.3 WCPN coverage of the "Star-Spangled Spectacular" begins with a live
broadcast of Around Noon, the WCPN daily program focusing on Northeast
Ohio's arts and culture. Program host Dee Perry will present a preview
of the Cleveland Orchestra concert and the pre-concert music festival,
including interviews with participants as they prepare for their
performances. Perry will also act as on-stage emcee for the
"Spectacular" concert, as well as the preceding festival performances, a
role she will be performing for the fifth consecutive year.

The festival kicks off at 4:00 p.m. with musical performances leading up
to the Orchestra concert, programmed in collaboration with the Ingenuity
Festival. These performances will be produced by ideastream for the
large screen set up on Public Square, providing everyone in the vicinity
with virtual front-and-center seating for these performances. =20

The day's feature performance begins at 9:00 p.m. as assistant conductor
James Gaffigan leads The Cleveland Orchestra with favorite patriotic
music, while soprano Measha Brueggergosman offers her voice as a soloist
on a number of selections. A spectacular fireworks display provides a
dramatic finale to the evening.  The concert will be simulcast on 90.3
WCPN and WCLV 104.9.

In addition, a video produced by WVIZ/PBS in cooperation with the
Cleveland Arts Prize will be showcased prior to the concert. The video
will be the first public announcement of the recipients of the Cleveland
Arts Prize, an award founded in 1960 to identify, reward, and encourage
the creative class. In addition to artists, the Arts Prize honors
individuals who have expanded the community's participation in the arts
and helped make the region more hospitable to creative artistic
expression.
