                         The closing ceremony of the popular Geauga Coun=
ty InfiniTree Project will take place F                       Friday, Ju=
ne 30, from 6:00 =96 9:00 pm at The West Woods Nature Center, <?xml:name=

                      tr The tree planting ceremony will begin at 7:00 p=
m.  All are invited to celebrate that the direct                descenda=
nts of the tree will live into the next generation. Complimentary refres=
hments w                      will be served by the Geauga Council for A=
rts & Culture (GCAC).  =

T                       The InfiniTree Project was sponsored by GCAC and=
 the Geauga Park District. Infinitree has     dramatized the role of the=
 maple tree in the ecology, history and economy of Geauga C            o=
unty, and was one of the county=92s Bicentennial Events.
                         =

                        The closing ceremony lets the public take part i=
n the tree planting of InfiniTree saplings, g                       get =
one last look at the amazing variety of art projects created from the 17=
5-year-old s                       sugar maple, and place final bids for=
 remaining art items in the InfiniTree silent auction. =

                         InfiniTree has proven immensely successful.  In=
 addition to reaching its educational g                       goals, ove=
r 80 local InfiniTree artists used the bark, branches, leaves, sawdust, =
sap                   and wood of the sugar maple to produce more than 2=
00 for-sale items, including           furniture, sculpture, musical ins=
truments, walking sticks, carvings, and mixed media. =

                         Though many of these unique pieces have been so=
ld at the artists=92 prices, all pieces               remain on display =
during the closing event.  Those still available will be auctioned off (=
                       with a set reserve) during the evening.   As with=
 all items, sale proceeds benefit both                  the artists and =
the InfiniTree sponsors.
 =

                         Winners of the peoples=92 choice and the judge=92=
s choice awards for a maple syrup recipe c             contest co-sponso=
red by GCAC and the Loretta Paganini School of Cooking will be          =
   a      announced as well. The Paganini School has generously provided=
 prizes for the                    contestants including gift certificat=
es toward classes. =
