The Broadview Heights Spotlights Community Theater is pleased to =
announce its third annual youth production, "Pocahontas."  Show dates =
are Thursdays through Sundays, July 13-23.  Evening performances will =
begin at 7:30 PM on Thursdays through Saturdays.  Matinee performances =
will begin at 3:30 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.  All shows will be held =
at the Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Center, located on the Broadview =
Center campus at 9543 Broadview Road (1/2 mile South of Route 82).  =
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for students and senior citizens. =20

"Pocahontas," a charming musical adventure for all ages, features many =
talented youth performers from Broadview Heights and its surrounding =
communities.  The show stars Alex Kruse as Pocahontas, Scott Thomas as =
Chief Powhattan, Shelley Wyzynski as The Wordspinner/Aunt Morning Star, =
and Nicola Velotta as Spirit of Mother Earth/Mercy.  Also starring: =
Cameron Arias, Gabrielle Calabrese, Christian Corpora, Scott Gorbach, =
Evan Holland, Jaggerd Irizarry, Neal Kennedy, Lauren LaPiccolo, Adrienne =
Leska, Alexandra Matta, Macie Matta, Jackie McCrea, Jenna Schroedel, =
Devin Sutter, Alyssa Tepfenhart, Lindsay Tryon, and Julia Tvardovskaya.=20

Pocahontas is directed by Tim Anderson.  Mr. Anderson returns to the =
director's chair after having directed the Spotlights' 2005 youth =
musical, A Little Princess, which set Spotlights box office records for =
sold-out performances. =20

Pocahontas is the daughter of the mighty Algonquin Chief Powhatan.  The =
princess delights in playing with the creatures of the wood, including =
Raven, Wolf and Squirrel.   Pocahontas also befriends the English =
settlers of Jamestown, a community struggling with starvation and =
sickness.  The enchanting musical is graced with a wonderful cast of =
characters, including Little Running Rabbit, Brave Eagle, Aunt Morning =
Star, Forest Spirits, Mother Earth, and the people of Jamestown.  Filled =
with Native American lore and beautiful music, the play is true to the =
original legend.  Book by Vera Morris; music and lyrics by Scott Deturk. =
