Mayor Frank Jackson To Accept Communal Murals
Mayor Frank Jackson will kick off the opening of "Collaboration" a
new art show featuring JoAnn DePolo and Denise Ivey Telep, at 5:30
pm on Friday July 7 at the Gallery 324 in the Galleria. The Mayor
will accept the communal mural painted by JoAnn DePolo, Denise Ivey
Telep, and the citizens of Cleveland throughout the day on June 14,
from 8 am through 7 pm. Nearly 700 people came to Gallery 324 in the
Galleria downtown, donned an apron provided by The Avenue District,
and, using materials donated by Cleveland Lumber and the Olmsted
Community Center, and others, added their brush strokes and
signatures to the two 4=B4 x 8=B4 panels of the skyline of Cleveland -
one night, one day. The resulting murals are being donated to the
City of Cleveland, and they will be on display in the Rotunda of City
Hall from July 13th.
Joanne DePolo and Denise Ivey Telep will show their paintings at
Gallery 324 from July 7 through July 29, 2006, in the show
"Collaboration", Friday, July 7, 2006 5 pm - 8 pm
$3 Parking in the Galleria Parking Garage after 4pm
JoAnn DePolo and Denise Telep paint acrylics on canvas and board, and
their subjects range from across landscapes and people. Vivid
colorists, each artist has a distinctive style in the paintings on
display. Both artists will each take on custom commissions,
individually and jointly, for paintings and murals. If you=B4re bored
by art that looks like you could turn it upside down and no one would
know, or interested in work you=B4d like to have in your home instead
of work that could only be hung in a museum, this is the show for
you.
Ms DePolo has just written a book, Making It As An Artist.
OPENING RECEPTION: Friday, July 7, 2006, 5 - 8 PM Refreshments and
music provided.
