GORDON SQUARE ARTS DISTRICT COORDINATOR
POSITION DESCRIPTION

REPORTS TO:   Gordon Square Arts District Director

SUMMARY OF POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Gordon Square Arts District Coordinator is a full-time position
responsible for facilitating the administrative and day-to-day activities
for the capital campaign of the Gordon Square Arts District.  The GSAD
Coordinator responsibilities include preparing written materials and grant
requests as well as promoting the GSAD to individual, businesses,
foundations, and government.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
1.	Provide administrative support to the GSAD Director including preparing
agendas and minutes of meetings.
2.	Research and prepare grant requests for government, corporate, and
foundation support.
3.	Coordinate activities of the Steering Committee and the Capital Campaign
Fundraising Committee.
4.	Work with GSAD Director, Executive Directors of Cleveland Public Theatre,
Near West Theatre and the Detroit Shoreway Community Development
Organization to revise and prepare written materials including brochures,
the GSAD Case for Support, materials for a variety of meetings and follow-up
thank you letters.
5.	Promote the GSAD to the community at large including businesses,
individuals, and block clubs in the surrounding neighborhood.
6.	Manage database of donors.
7.	All other duties as assigned and required to meet the responsibilities of
this position and to achieve the overall goals of DSCDO’s economic
development initiatives.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1.	Master’s degree in business administration, urban studies, or related
field preferred.  B.A./B.S. required.
2.	Demonstrated capacity to render independent judgment, negotiate terms and
conditions for services and materials.
3.	Strong background in various aspects of nonprofit management, including
marketing, volunteer management, finance/budgeting, grant writing, and
planning.
4.	Strong ability to work with diverse groups of stakeholders, including
neighborhood residents, representatives of community-based organization,
community leaders and public officials.
5.	Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
6.	Strong interpersonal and writing skills; highly organized with attention
to detail; demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects and meet
deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to operate a computer and keyboard.  Ability to operate a motor
vehicle or equipment.  May require reaching, standing, walking, fingering,
grasping and feeling, and the ability to lift or move objects up to 20
pounds.  May require vocal communication for expressing or exchanging ideas,
hearing to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, visual acuity
for color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data,
determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general
surroundings and activities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Availability for extended hours during peak periods and attendance at
evening/week-end meetings.  Exposure to inside and outside environmental
conditions.
