Lakeland Theatre announces auditions for
  PRIDE & PREJUDICE

  This is a beautiful adaptation of a wonderful classic. It’s very theatrical and a true crowd pleaser!
  Auditions: NO APPOINTMENTS NECESSARY. 
  Monday July 17, 2006 7:00 – 9:00 PM  
  Tuesday, July 18, 2006 7:00 – 9:00 PM
  No need to prepare a monologue. I will be interested in your attempt at an English dialect, although it is not necessary to master one at this time. All actors will also be asked to read from the script on the day you audition. Callbacks or additional auditions only as necessary. ALL ROLES OPEN EXCEPT MR. BENNET.
   
  This adaptation was utilized by the Guthrie Theatre’s recent successful summer 2003 production as well as Lakeland’s 2004 production. This adaptation was originally produced at the Gate Theatre in Dublin, Ireland. It is a wonderful adaptation that not only tells a wonderful story but illuminates the characters of Jane Austen’s timeless novel and the English society of the late 18th century.  
   
  Production and Rehearsal dates:
  Pride & Prejudice will open on October 6 and run through October 22, 2006. There will be two school matinees on Thursday or Friday mornings. Of course, you will be compensated for all performances. Sorry, no Equity contracts at this time. 
  Rehearsals will begin on September 5, 2006.

  Mr. Bennet, a country gentleman:  Mitchell Fields (AEA)
  Mrs. Bennet, his wife (between 35 and 50 years)
   
  Jane Bennet, almost 23
  Elizabeth Bennet, age 20
  Mary Bennet, approximately 19
  Kitty Bennet, age 18
  Lydia Bennet, age 15 turning 16
  Their daughters
   
  Mr. Collins, a clergyman, (between 30 and 50)
  Sir William Lucas, former mayor of Meryton (between 40 and 60)
  Charlotte Lucas, his daughter, friend of the Bennet sisters (between 25 and 30 years)
   
  Mr. Charles Bingley, a young bachelor of 4,000 pounds a year (between 25 and 30 years)
  Miss Caroline Bingley, his sister (between 25 and 30 years)
  Mr. Darcy, his friend, age 28, a bachelor of 10,000 pounds a year (between 25-40yrs)
  Colonel Fitzwilliam,  age 25 to 30 years
  Mr. George Wickham, an officer in the militia (between 25 and 30years)
  Mr. Denny, an officer in the militia (23 and 30 yrs)
  Captain Carter, an officer in the militia (23 and 30 years)
  Lady Catherine DeBourgh, aunt of Mr. Darcy (50 to 70 years)
  Miss Anne De Bourgh, her daughter (25 to 30 years)
  Mrs. Jenkinson, campanion of Miss DeBourgh  (25 to 35 years)
   
  Ball Guests and Servants
   
  There will be doubling in some of the roles. All performances will include some period dancing. The show runs approximately 2 and ¾ hours.

Park at the other end of the parking lot. The PAC is just past and to the left of the Clocktower.
