The popular New Zealand actor, now resident in Canton, knows of no bett=
er way to showcase his performance.

His double audio CD will also be on sale.

Geoffrey has recently arrvived in Ohio. He married Canton woman Rose Min=
ner has performed Marks Gospel in every centre in New Zealand, and four=
times in Ohio, in 2004 and 2005.

Among his adventures with Mark's Gospel has been a midwinter walk the le=
ngth of New Zealand=92s South Island: 600 miles in 33 days, performing =
the 90-minute story of the life of Jesus Christ wherever he stopped.
=
One day he walked 28 miles carrying a 60lb pack for most of it, and perf=
ormed to more than 120 people that night. But the attentive audience and=
the power of the story got him through.
=
Hearing Mark=92s Gospel gives the audiences and congregations the chanc=
e to feel what it was like for early Christians to hear the Gospel told =
to them, in the oral tradition. But it is also great theatre.
Over the last five years Geoffrey Darling has presented Mark=92s Gospel=
more than 100 times in New Zealand; and four times in Ohio, thanks to t=
he organization of his wife Rose.
Mark is the shortest of the gospels and Geoffrey Darling uses the Contem=
porary English Version because the translation uses language designed t=
o be heard as opposed to be read. =

It is a rivetting and absorbing performance, from the moment he appears =
dressed as a Franciscan monk who has just finished illuminating a Bible =
=96 which he shares with the audience.
