Dear Friends,

We are very excited to announce Tri-C Metro's open Auditions for August
Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone.

The production will be under the skillful direction of Jimmie Woody, so
clear your calendar and plan to attend.

Audition Dates: Sept. 6 & 7 - each evening at 7pm.

Location: Tri-C Metro Studio Theatre, 2900 Community College Ave.,
Cleveland. Please use entrance #6 at 30th St and Woodland for secure
underground parking. 50 cents required to exit parking garage.

All roles are open - 6 African-American Males (all ages) and 5
African-American Females (all ages).

Auditions will consist of readings from the script; of course audition
monologues are welcomed.

Joe Turner will be our Fall/06 Studio production. Production dates are Oct.
26 thru Nov. 5 (Thursdays thru Sundays)

Set in a Pittsburgh boardinghouse in 1911, the play examines African
Americans' search for their cultural identity, following the repression of
American slavery. For Herald Loomis, this search involves the physical
migration from the South to Pittsburgh in an attempt to find his wife.
Pittsburgh was one of the many urban areas in the North that other blacks
migrated to in the 1910s, in an effort to flee the discrimination they faced
in the South, while attempting to find financial success in the North.
Herald's search for his identity, represented as his song, is unsuccessful
until he has embraced the pain of both his own past and the past of his
ancestors, and moved on to self-sufficiency.

Call 216 987-4535 for more info.
