  PLAYWRITING: The 10-Minute Format
Facilitator: Domenick Danza, Education Director, Cleveland Play House
Suitable for beginning and experienced playwrights, this class will focus on the 10-Munite format. Through a progression of writing assignments and class discussions, participants will explore many of the essential elements of dramatic writing for the short form. Emphasis will be on dialogue, dramatic structure, and character development. Class time will be devoted to writing exercises, reading aloud participants’ work, and sharing feedback in a supportive and challenging environment.
Six Tuesday evenings beginning October 10, 7-9
Held in the Schubert Library at the Cleveland Play House, 8500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland
  Members $110/Non-Members $120

  THEATER REVIEWS: Writing Reviews
  David Ritchey
Participants will study formats for reviewing theater, will read reviews, and will write reviews. The instructor’s training in theater history and literary criticism, and his background as theater critic for Akron’s West Side Leader, will inform the class experience. Students will leave the class able to express their reaction to the production on paper. As a group, we will attend one theatrical production and write a review of that show.
Three Thursday evenings, beginning October 5, 6:30 – 8:30 pm
  Members $60/Non-members $65
Held at the Literary Center, 12200 Fairhill Road, Townhouse #3A, Cleveland
