stage, wouldn't your students love to come and experience it? =
Weathervane offers to immerse your students into history with school-day =
matinee performances of three exciting and educational dramas.

In October 2006, the American Classic Fences by August Wilson; =
winner of four Antionette ("Tony") Perry Awards, the New York Drama =
Critics' Circle Award, the Pulitzer Prize, and the John Gassner Outer =
Critics' Circle Award. Set in the 1950's, this bittersweet tale of =
baseball, fate and family love is a portrait of a man who has paid a =
great price in keeping his family together.

In January 2007, All My Sons is authored by Arthur Miller, seven =
time winner of the Antionette ("Tony") Perry Award, the Pulitzer Prize, =
two Drama Critics Circle Awards, an Obie, an Olivier, the John F. =
Kennedy Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Dorothy and Lillian Gish =
prize. An apparently successful businessman who made his fortune by =
selling airplane parts during World War II sent out a batch that he knew =
to be defective, and twenty-one pilots died as a result. He covers it up =
and is tried, but exonerated. He cannot escape the consequences of his =
actions however, and must finally accepts his responsibility for his =
crime.=20

In February 2007, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare will grace =
our stage. As part of our "Young Actors Series," this timeless tale will =
be told by Weathervane's teen ensemble. Take this classic tragedy out of =
the realm of iambic pentameter, and allow us to bring this romantic tale =
to life!=20

Weathervane Playhouse and its programs serve as a vital artistic =
resource for the young people of Akron and Northeast Ohio. The theatre =
arts teach us to describe, think critically, and question all of the =
basic truths we have come to take for granted. Weathervane's goal is to =
reach the highest level of artistic achievement while providing a wide =
base for the community to gain experience in all facets of the arts. We =
are committed to providing engaging, innovative, high-quality theater =
education to students of every cultural heritage, age, ability, and =
level of interest. Our Education program strives to help students =
develop their voices, bodies, and imaginations using theater skills, =
which help them grow ~ both as artists and as people. We dedicate =
ourselves to the belief that young people should have the opportunity to =
participate in theater as both audience members and as artists. =
Weathervane's Youth Theatre creates this opportunity. In our classes, =
our productions, and our entire performing arts program we push students =
to "choose to be challenged."=20

Had enough of preparing daily for proficiency tests and fretting about =
levies? Want to allow your students to stretch their creativity and =
improve their critical thinking skills? Let us teach your classes for a =
couple of days. To arrange for this wonderfully enriching program for =
your students and book your tickets, call the Director of Education at =
330-836-2323 Ext. 17.

We look forward to your call!
