ORGAN CLASSICS SPANNING 4 CENTURIES
Organist Boyd Herforth, formerly of Cleveland Heights will =
return to play a recital of organ classics at Church of the Saviour on =
Lee Road on Tuesday, October 10th at 7:30 p.m. Long-time residents will =
be familiar with his father Harry Herforth who played first trumpet in =
the Cleveland Orchestra during the 1950's. =20

Boyd Herforth holds a Masters in Organ Performance from Westminster =
Choir College in Princeton, NJ. He has been playing organ recitals for =
the past twenty years, particularly in New York's Hudson Valley, and =
Northern New Jersey, where he is an active member of both local chapters =
of the AGO. Most recently Mr. Herforth appeared in Cleveland to present =
a Master Class for the AGO Region V Convention a few years ago.

The musical offering spans almost 400 year of organ history, beginning =
with the chorale preludes of Sweelinck, continuing through Lubek and =
Bach, and culminating with such 20th composers as Hebble, Manz and =
Jacobus Kloppers. Dr. Kloppers is Professor of Organ and Musicology and =
Department Head at The King's University College in Edmonton, Canada. =
Also featured will be a fantasia on Celtic Melodies by Paul Halley, =
organist and choirmaster at St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York =
for many years.=20

This recital begins the 11th season of Arts in the Cathedral at Church =
of the Saviour. The organization presents multiple events, exhibits and =
classes in Drama, Music, Visual Arts, Dance and Needlework. The public =
is cordially invited to attend this recital. A free-will offering will =
be accepted.
