AUDITION BULLETIN

Arts in the Cathedral is pleased to announce its 2007 Young Artists' =
Showcase designed to provide public recognition and encouragement for =
serious young musicians in northern Ohio.=20

=20

ELIGIBILITY: The Competition is open to instrumentalists in grades 10-12 =
whose permanent home is in northern Ohio and who have had at least 3.5 =
years of private study on their instrument.

=20

AWARDS: Each winner will receive $150. The judges will select =
approximately 8 winners who will each perform one selection (5-6 minutes =
in length) on the Young Artists Showcase Recital to be held on Sunday, =
February 25, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at the Showcase =
Recital.

REQUIREMENTS:

1)       Completed Application (available from Church of the Saviour, =
216-321-8880)

2)       Signed letter of recommendation from private music teacher

3)       CD or cassette tape recording of applicant playing 1 (one) =
musical selection

                a) Made within the last 6 months

                b) Not more than 5 minutes in length=20

                c) RECORDING MUST BE MARKED WITH APPLICANT'S FULL NAME.  =
=20

                d) Each recording will be "blind-auditioned" so that the =
judges will not know who is playing.

                e) Recording does not need to be the same repertoire =
used for the live audition.

=20

LIVE AUDITIONS: After an initial screening process, approved applicants =
will be invited to participate in live auditions on Saturday, February =
10, 2007 at Church of the Saviour, 2537 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights, OH =
44118. You will be notified of your playing time in advance.

1)       Contestants must play the same selection for the live audition =
as they would on the Showcase Recital if they are chosen as a winner.  =
The selection must be memorized.

2)       Auditions will be limited to 5 minutes total for each =
contestant.  Works should be cut, if necessary, to comply with the =
audition time limit.

3)       Provide 4 copies of your music for the judges.

ACCOMPANIST: An accompanist will be available if needed for the =
auditions, however winners must provide their own accompanist for the =
Showcase Recital.

STANDARDS:  All candidates will be judged on the basis of their overall =
performance, which includes technical proficiency, musicality, tone, and =
stage presence.  The decision of the judges is final.  The judges =
reserve the right to withhold any or all prizes.

DEADLINE: Application materials must be postmarked no later than =
December 30, 2006.  Incomplete applications will not be accepted.=20
