What do Betty Buckley, Jason Robert Brown, Blossom Dearie, Mary Cleere
Haran, Steve Ross, Billy Stritch, Ann Hampton Callaway and Maureen
McGovern Have In Common ?

None of them have ever played at Nighttown in Cleveland Heights.

But they could.

And they should.

And they can, with your help.

Nighttown is conducting its first-ever Music, Food & Service Survey.
I've told the owner of Nighttown, Brendan Ring, many times that
Clevelanders would come out and support A-List cabaret stars if he
brings them to Nighttown.

You can take the survey (anonymously, of course) here: http://tinyurl.com/ryroo

Please, spread the word by sending the link above to your friends and
encouraging them to take the survey, too. One specific question asks
"what artists should we bring to Nighttown?" Trust me - Brendan Ring
is going to look at the survey results very carefully - your vote(s)
count !!!!!

Nighttown is already Cleveland's center for The Great American
Songbook...with your help, Nighttown will bring in the cabaret artists
you want to see (and for a whole lot less money than having to travel
to New York City to see them).

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Bruce Hennes
for Nighttown

CASSIDY THEATRE ANNOUNCES LONE STAR PARTNERSHIP

Parma Heights - Starting with the Cassidy Theatre's current production, VISITING MR. GREEN, audience members who see a the show during the first weekind will be automatically entered to win dinner for two (up to a $50 value) at the Lonestar Steakhouse in Parma Heights! VISITING MR. GREEN opens tonight and runs through October 22nd.

When Cassidy Theatre Director Joseph Hnat cast Frank Mularo and Dan Sekanic in the upcoming two-man production of the play VISITING MR. GREEN, he didn't consider that he was also creating a rare theatre triad: a project in which the Director and the actors in it are all experienced stage directors.

It's a theatre triple-play that has created an increased atmosphere of collaboration during the process of mounting the production. "It's been a pleasure working on this project," says Hnat. "It's a blessing to work with actors who are also directors themselves. It'ss rare to have the level of trust in the instincts of your actors that I have in Dan and Frank. This has been a real team effort and it is going to be a very special production because of it."

VISITING MR. GREEN was written by New York playwright Jeff Baron and premiered in 1997. It has been described as a mix between The Odd Couple and Tuesdays With Morrie. Visiting Mr. Green tells the story of Mr. Green, and old man set in his ways and Ross Gardiner, a progressive young professional who meet by accident (literally). Ross is assigned to visit Mr. Green once a week as a community service sentence. What starts out as a nuisance for both men, turns into understanding and friendship as the weeks go on. After a year-long run at the Union Square Theatre in New York, VISITING MR. GREEN has been translated into 22 languages and performed around the world in 300 separate productions. In 1999, Baron was invited to speak at the United Nations and to present a reading of VISITING MR. GREEN. He recently completed a screenplay for a film of the play to star Eli Wallach, who starred as "Mr. Green" on Broadway.

Joseph Hnat is a well-known actor and director and has worked on numerous Cassidy productions. He was last seen on the Cassidy Theatre stage this past season as "Mr. Mushnik" in the award-winning production of Little Shop of Horrors. Dan Sekanic (Ross Gardiner), directed last season's production of You Can't Take It With You at the Cassidy, which was voted Best Play of the season. Frank Mularo (Mr. Green), is a long-time favorite on area stages and has won numerous Cassidy Theatre awards in the dozens of productions at the theatre over the years.

VISITING MR. GREEN runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm from October 6th through October 22nd. Call (440) 842-4600 for ticket reservations. Tickets are $15 for adults, $14 for students and seniors. The Cassidy Theatre is located in the Greenbrier Commons, 6200 Pearl Road in Parma Heights.
