Job Description for Technical Director

Opera Cleveland seeks a Technical Director for its 2007 season. The TD
will be responsible for realization of set designs and coordination of
technical elements in the theatre. Experience in planning and budgeting,
rigging, and personnel management required. Job description includes;
pricing scenery, reading and creating technical drawings, budgeting
labor and construction costs, supervising labor in construction,
load-in, tech, rehearsals and strike. Applicant must have drafting
skills with working knowledge of Vectorworks, practical experience with
scenic carpentry and construction, rigging, and welding.  Applicant must
be comfortable supervising both union and non-union crews, and be
familiar with standard word processing and spreadsheet programs. The
ideal candidate will work with an eye towards promptness, efficiency and
safety. The Technical Director reports to the Director of Production and
works with the Shop Foreman in coordinating production elements.=20
