The show reviews the lives of various female authors dating from Sappho in
600 B.C. through Lillian Hellman who wrote in the 20th century.  The play
relates the thoughts and feelings of these women who frequently had to hide
behind male names or remain anonymous while writing characters who
demonstrate the strength of womankind.  The setting is intimate with only 12
high school actresses and little in the way of a set to allow the audience
to truly appreciate the thoughts and words of these amazing women.

To quote from the Author's Note, "This play is meant to speak not only to
women, but to anyone who needs encouragement in daring to develop and
express his or her own voice, in any field of endeavor."

To inspire each girl to fulfill her promise and to better the world.
